Mission of the Month

Each month Faith emphasizes a particular outreach ministry. Contributions can be placed either in the Mission of the Month envelopes found in your offering envelope box or in the white envelopes in the church pews. Members are also encouraged to volunteer and help with these programs.
 
January
St. Ben’s
Contributions are used to purchase ingredients for the donated tuna casseroles Faith members make. Volunteers also make desserts and serve the homeless every other month at St. Ben’s in Milwaukee.

February
Mt. Meru Coffee Project
Contributions are used toward construction and maintenance of processing equipment so coffee farmers in Tanzania can increase production. Faith members are encouraged to purchase coffee throughout the year.

Interfaith Caregivers
Provides support to elderly and shut-ins in Ozaukee County.

April
Lutheran Volunteer Corps (LVC)
LVC is a national volunteer program. Volunteers work for one to two years providing assistance in social service and advocacy programs in urban areas. Contact person: Alisa Norquist
 
May
Crossways Camping Ministry
Operates three camps in north central Wisconsin. Provides retreats for all ages to enjoy fellowship, God’s creation, and faith-building. Youth from our confirmation and WaTeR program regularly attend these camps.

Lutheran Social Services
Reaches over 100,000 people annually through providing adoption and refugee services, counseling for families and individuals, care for older adults, and programs for people with special needs.

Family House
Provides assisted living for the elderly in the inner-city of
Milwaukee. It also reaches out with education and support services to the neighborhood.

August
ELCA Malaria Campaign
Provides mosquito nets, testing kits, medication, and education. The goal is to eradicate malaria in Africa and Central America.

Luther Manor
Provides housing and care for older persons.
Luther Manor, Lakefield, provides day services to the elderly and the disabled.

Simple Hope
The direct mission of Simple Hope is to empower lives through faith, nutritious food, clean water and education of sustainable processes.

ELCA World Hunger Appeal
Through congregational support,  the ELCA works to address hunger issues through things like health clinics, microloans, wells for clean water, community meals, animal husbandry, and advocacy.

ELCA Disaster Response Funds
Lutheran Disaster Response US and Lutheran Disaster Response International provide food, water, housing, and spiritual support in times of disaster.
