Mission of the Month

 
Each month Faith emphasizes a particular outreach ministry. Contributions can be placed either in the Mission of the Month envelopes found in your offering envelope box or in the white envelopes in the church pews. Members are also encouraged to volunteer and help with these programs.  
 
Missions for 2020:    
 
January-St. Ben’s: Contributions are used to purchase ingredients for the tuna casseroles that members bake. Volunteers also make cupcakes and serve the homeless every other month at St. Ben’s in Milwaukee. Sponsor: Tom Sear    
 
February-Mt. Meru Coffee Project: Contributions are used toward construction and maintenance of the processing equipment so coffee farmers in Tanzania can increase production. Faith members are encouraged to purchase coffee throughout the year. Sponsors: Joe and Dottie Dorr.   
 
March-Reformation Lutheran Church, Milwaukee: Partner ELCA congregation that reaches out to neighbors in the 53208 zip code with support for daily living needs, fellowship, and weekly worship opportunities. Sponsors: Joyce Caldwell and Esther Rusch     
 
April-Cedarburg Green: Cedarburg Green is a non-profit group that supports urban forestry, beautifies public spaces, promotes sustainable environmental stewardship, and raises funds for the planting of trees in Cedarburg. Sponsor: Pastor John Norquist    
 
May-Crossways Camping Ministry: Operates three summer camps in north central Wisconsin. Provides retreats for all ages to enjoy God's creation, for fellowship, and to provide faith building opportunities. Sponsors: Cindy Dellegrazio       
 
June-Lutheran Social Services: LSS reaches over 100,000 people annually through a variety of services. Services include: adoption, refugee services, youth and family counseling, older adult, and special needs. Sponsor: Joyce Christie and Pastor John Norquist   
 
July-Pine Ridge Indian Reservation: Fosters better understanding between American Indian and non-Indian peoples. Contributions help fund the heating assistance program, sandwich ministry, after school programs and more. Sponsor: Cindy Ball   
 
August-Family Sharing of Ozaukee County: Provides food, clothing and household items for needy families living in Ozaukee County. Sponsor: Phil Dellegrazio   
 
September-Celebrate Faith
 
October-Young Adults in Global Mission: This ELCA program invites young adults ages 21-29 into a transformative, year-long journey in international service. Sponsor: Esther Rusch    
 
November-ELCA World Hunger Appeal: Provides food and advocates for starving people around the world. Sponsors: Joyce Christie and Esther Rusch
 
December-Breaking the Chains Congregation: Breaking the Chains is a worshipping community, authorized by the Greater Milwaukee Synod, made up of incarcerated men inside the Felmers Chaney Correctional Center, Milwaukee. Mark Thompson, who grew up at Faith, is the called pastor. Sponsor: Joe Dorr and Mark Thompson
